Thing # 18

I looked at the online productivity tools--amazing! I created an account on Zoho Writer. I hope to be able to use this tool in the future.

Thing # 17: Wiki Sandbox

I like the idea of the sandbox--"pure play". It is interesting to see all the wikis out there.

Thing # 16: Wikis

A wiki is a knowledge sharing tool. Users can add, remove, and edit content. Thus, the wiki is a work in progress.

Thing # 15: Web 2.0

Change is good. Libraries have changed to reflect the changing of their patrons. Youtube, Flickr,Blogs, RSS Feeds, Myspace...these are all second nature to the younger library patrons of today. Libraries have to jump on the Technology spaceship, to keep up with the patrons.

I skimmed through Andrew Keens' The Cult of the Amateur: How Todays Internet is Killing Our Culture. He is not a big fan of Web 2.0. I tend to agree with him. There is something about an old-fashioned book--curling up with a cup of tea or cocoa in a comfy chair with a blanket on a cold winter night. I just hope the old fashioned book doesn't disappear.

Thing # 14: Technorati

Again, this technology is interesting, but I doubt I would ever use it.

Thing # 13: Del.icio.us

I set up my del.icio.us account. I must say that it is doubtful that I would ever use this, but it is interesting. Perhaps it is just my age groups' mindset.

Thing # 12

Rollyo, rollyo, I have created you. I think of rollo, the chocolate candy with the creamy caramel center. But rollos can't do searches like the wondrous rollyo can. Thing # 12 is complete!
